Total Barre™

Totalbarre_notag The dynamic Total Barre™ program is intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement. Instructors looking to bring music-inspired movement to their clients will love the 11 specially arranged and selected segments that serve as the template for each session or class. Segments are accompanied by timed selections of music, each at a designated pace and focus on individual areas of the body or movement type. After completing this program students will be prepared to teach the repertoire safely, effectively and with confidence. Our Total Barre™ program provides a balanced and thorough blend of theory, observation and practical experience to help you master the repertoire. There are no refunds/transfers with less than 24 hours notice of the start time of any workshop or Foundation Course.

  • Learn creative choreography of a well-balanced Barre workout.
  • Receive a template to effectively guide participants to modify and choreograph future workouts.
  • Break down various movements and explore the stabilization and mobilization required to achieve them.
  • Learn how to cue, correct and modify effectively for all populations.
  • Experience and implement six Total Barre™ Foundational Principles.
  • Participants are supplied suggested beats per minute for each segment of the workout they learn with optional music playlist.

Total Barre ™ Foundation Course
Date: April 6th, 12:00-8:00

The 7 hour, one-day Total Barre Foundation Course provides the groundwork for Instructors to produce safe, effective and varied barre programs that address the needs and goals of every client. Participants are introduced to the Total Barre Principles – six movement awareness fundamentals that provide the structure and biomechanical basis for each exercise. During the course, participants have the opportunity to experience the movements before examining the application of the principles, and learn the essence of each exercise along with the theories of dynamic stability, optimal mobility and movement efficiently.

.4 STOTT PILATES® CECs
This high-energy four-hour workshop, developed by the MERRITHEW™ team, is a great opportunity for Instructors looking to bring music-inspired movement to their clients. Following the class template used in the Total Barre Foundation Course and with the same level of intensity, Instructors learn unique choreography to create a biomechanically well-balanced and fun Barre program. Incorporating light props such as the Flex-Band®, Mini Stability Ball™ and Toning Balls™ gives Instructors more flexibility for their clients in an hour-long, endurance-focused class.

Barre workouts have the potential to be both vigorous and enjoyable. Bring the energy of music to a challenging workout brought to you by the Merrithew Health & Fitness™ team. Built on the Total Barre™ class template, this workout introduces elements of athletic conditioning and performance training to individual exercise segments of the full-body workout. Powerful music selections propel the intensity-driven routines to amplify the results and energize every participant. Best if taken after the Total Barre Foundation Course.

NEW Total Barre™ Endurance with Props

Props, props, props! Clients love props, and when you incorporate them into a lively, music-inspired barre class, they not only provide a fun and intense challenge, but ensure target muscles are firing effectively, and clients are getting the desired results. This four-hour workshop, developed by the Merrithew™ team, follows the 11-Segment, one-hour class template, introduced in the Total Barre Foundation Course. Learn unique, energetic choreography coupled with effective cues to reinforce safe biomechanics for each movement of the workout. The added resistance of a Flex-Band®, and Ankle Tubing effectively activates stabilizing and mobilizing muscles and the addition of the Mini Stability Ball™ provides both support and challenge. This workout, choreographed to a great selection of music, is a wonderful addition to your barre program.
